Raman and Krishnan start moving towards each other from points A and B, 200 m apart from each other. After walking 60 metres, Krishnan takes a left turn and walks 20 metres, then he takes a right turn and walks 40 metres. He again takes a right turn and comes back on the path from where he started. Raman did not turn anywhere while walking. If Raman and Krishnan walk at the same speed, what is the distance between them now?
A. 20m
B. 40 meters
C. 30m
D. 50m
Answer: Option B
Solution (By JKExamLibrary)
Krishnan covered a total distance of 60 + 20 + 40 + 20 = 140m. Because they walk at the same speed, Raman also walked 140m straight. Krishnan advanced 60 + 40 = 100m towards Raman's starting point. Raman advanced 140m towards Krishnan's starting point. Distance between them = Total distance (200) - (100 + 140) = |200 - 240| = 40 meters.
