A train 250 meters long takes 30 seconds to cross a man running at 6 km/h in the opposite direction. Find the speed of the train.
A. 24 km/h
B. 36 km/h
C. 30 km/h
D. 42 km/h
Answer: Option A
Solution (By JKExamLibrary)
Relative speed = 250 / 30 = 25/3 m/s = (25/3) * (18/5) = 30 km/h. In opposite directions, Relative Speed = Speed of train + Speed of man => 30 = Speed of train + 6 => Speed of train = 24 km/h.
